Fashion Design and Sewing Program
Are you interested in fashion? Do you want to become a fashion designer? Or do you simply want to learn how to design your own beautiful clothes? Then this is the place for you. Come learn what it means to be a designer. I offer a unique garment construction and design program that will give you the ability to create anything your imagination can dream up. Yes, even if you don't know a thing about sewing. The fashion design and sewing program is designed for ages 7 and up. It is ongoing and self-paced with a maximum of 6 students per class. Students can sign up at any time throughout the year. Lessons are hands-on, age appropriate, and designed to build your skills in the correct progression. All levels are welcome - no sewing or design experience necessary. In class sewing machines, tools, pattern paper and written instructions included. This self-paced program focuses on the design aspects of fashion. Students will learn how to:
Fabric and notions are supplied by the student. Students are welcome and encouraged to use their own sewing machines.
This student demonstrates the simple process of creating a garment (click on picture to enlarge). Step 1: Draft and cut out your pattern; Step 2: Select, preshrink, and iron your fabric; Step 3: Cut out your garment pieces; Step 4: Sew it up!
