Boy's Level 1 Curriculum

For Ages 7-12

 

Each student will learn how to draft, design and sew up each one of these garments below.  They will also learn the following sewing techniques while sewing up the garments: Machine Straight Stitch; Sewing and Trimming a Curve; Top Stitching; Reinforced Stitch; Stitch and Pinked Seam Finish; Bias Tape; Overcast Stitch; Pinked and Fused Hem Finish; Pinked and Top Stitched; Casing for Elastic and more.  It is recommended that students purchase a large 3" binder and sheet protectors to store the instructional handouts and samples.  Upon completion of all 5 levels or turning 13 years old, the student can continue his study in fashion design with more complex techniques in the Teen/Adult Curriculum.

Modeling Levels 1.3, 1.2 and 1.7  as a complete outfit

Modeling Levels 1.4 and 1.8 as an outfit

 

Modeling Levels 1.3, 1.6 and 1.7 as a complete outfit.

Example of Level 2: Kimono Sleeve Top and Robe with Drawstring Pants.  In level 2 students will learn how to draft and sew garments with kimono sleeves, drawstrings, patch pockets, hoods and more.
